Boost clock (GHz)

The highest speed a CPU or GPU runs for short bursts when cooling and power allow.

Clock speed is cycles per second. The base clock is guaranteed; the boost/turbo clock is reached for short periods when temperature and power allow. Speed across different architectures can't be compared by GHz alone.
