How we source specs

Where every number comes from, how we check it, and what "Not stated by the maker" really means.

Where values come from

We accept, in this order:

  1. The maker's own pages — official spec pages, spec sheets, newsroom press releases, support and tech-specs pages.
  2. Other official documents — for example government certification and test databases, regulator filings, official store listings run by the maker.

We never copy values from other spec websites, forums, leaks or AI tools. Rumours appear only in the clearly labelled Rumours section, never in a spec table.

How a value gets onto a page

  1. A researcher reads the official page and records the value exactly as the maker words it, the link, and the date it was read.
  2. The value is converted to a standard unit (for example grams, mAh, Hz) without rounding the meaning.
  3. An editor checks it against the source and approves it. Only approved values are public.
  4. The old value is kept as history when a value changes — we never silently overwrite.

What you see next to each value

  • The website it came from, linked
  • The date we checked it
  • The test standard, when it matters (for example WLTP or EPA range for cars)

When a value is missing

"Not stated by the maker" means we read the official sources and the maker does not publish that number. A dash (—) means we have not researched that field yet. Neither is ever replaced with an estimate.

Regional differences

Phones often differ by country — chips, bands, charging, colours, even battery size. When the maker's pages differ, we show the region in a note next to the value.

Comparisons and scores

A spec is marked "better" only when both values exist, were measured the same way and the rule is clear (more battery capacity is better, less weight is better). Values measured under different test standards are never compared as equal. The Zynverse Score uses the same rule: unknown values are left out, not guessed.

Corrections

If you find a value that does not match its source, write to info@zynverse.com with the product and the link. See the corrections policy.
