How we write news, rumours, guides and explainers — and what we will never publish.

Last updated · 4 sections · 1 min read

Our standards

  • Facts first, sourced. Every factual claim links to its source — the maker, an official document or a named report.
  • Clear labels. Every article is one of four types, shown at the top:
    • News — confirmed by the maker or an official source.
    • Rumour — unconfirmed; always labelled, always with its source, never added to spec tables.
    • Guide — how to do something or fix a problem, step by step.
    • Explainer — what a spec or technology means, in plain words.
  • No fake hands-on. We don't claim to have tested a product we haven't. Our scores are spec scores, not reviews.
  • No fake people, quotes or numbers. We don't invent experts, testimonials or statistics.
  • Independence. Brands and shops can't pay for coverage, scores or placement. Commercial content, if any, is marked "Sponsored".

How we use automation and AI

We use software, including AI tools, to help research, draft and check content. A person on our team checks facts against the sources before anything about specs is published, and AI is never used to make up specs, prices, quotes or test results.

Updates

When facts change, we update the article and show the update date. Significant corrections are noted at the end of the article — see the corrections policy.
