How the Zynverse Score works

A 0–100 spec score with a fixed, public formula. It measures hardware on paper — it is not a hands-on review.

What the score is — and isn't

The Zynverse Score turns a phone's official specs into one number from 0 to 100, so you can see at a glance how much hardware you get. It is not a review: it can't measure how good photos look, how smooth the software feels or how long the battery really lasts. Use it together with the full specs and hands-on reviews.

The fixed-anchor rule

Each spec is scored between two fixed anchors — a low point that earns 0 and a high point that earns full marks. The anchors are published below and do not move when new phones are added, so a phone's score does not change just because a newer phone arrived. We may raise the anchors in a new version of the formula (the version is shown with every score).

Areas and weights (phones, version p1)

Area Weight What counts (anchors)
Display 20 Refresh rate 60–144 Hz (40%), peak brightness 500–3000 nits (35%), pixel density 250–550 ppi (25%)
Battery & charging 20 Capacity 3000–6500 mAh (60%), wired charging 10–120 W on a log scale (25%), wireless charging 0–50 W (15%)
Camera hardware 20 Main camera 12–200 MP on a log scale (20%), optical zoom 1×–10× (30%), number of rear cameras 1–4 (20%), best video mode (30%: 1080p 0.2, 4K 0.55, 4K at 60/120 fps 0.75, 8K 1.0)
Memory & storage 15 Largest RAM option 4–16 GB (55%), largest storage option 64 GB–1 TB on a log scale (45%)
Build & durability 10 IP rating (IP68 full marks, IP67 0.8, IP65 0.55, IP64 0.45, other IP6x 0.35, IP5x 0.3)
Connectivity & features 15 5G (30%), Wi-Fi generation (30%: Wi-Fi 7 1.0, 6E 0.85, 6 0.7, 5 0.4, older 0.2), NFC (20%), stereo speakers (20%)

Values above the high anchor get full marks; values below the low anchor get zero.

Unknown values are left out

If the maker does not state a value, that spec is left out of the calculation — it does not count as zero and is not guessed. Each area's weight shrinks by the share of its specs that are unknown, and the final score is calculated only over what is known.

Coverage — when we show a score

Coverage is the share of the scored specs that are known. We show a score only when coverage is at least 60%. Below that, the page says there is not enough official data yet.

Value for money

On the budget advisor, value = Zynverse Score ÷ real price × 100. Real price means a shop price we checked recently, otherwise the maker's official launch price in that market. We never use estimated prices.

Money never changes the score

Affiliate commissions and advertising have no input into the formula. The same formula runs for every phone.
