Torque (Nm)

The twisting force an engine or motor delivers, in newton-metres. More torque = stronger pull from low speed.

Torque is the twisting force at the crankshaft or motor, measured in newton-metres (Nm). High torque at low rpm makes a vehicle feel strong when pulling away or overtaking. Electric motors give full torque from standstill, which is why EVs feel quick.
