CPU cores and threads
Cores are separate processing units; threads are tasks a core can run at once. More helps multitasking and heavy work.
A core runs instructions independently; threads (SMT/Hyper-Threading) let a core work on two tasks at once. Modern chips mix big performance cores and small efficiency cores. Games often use 6–8 cores well; video editing and 3D rendering use as many as you have.
