LTPO display

A screen technology that lets the refresh rate drop very low (down to 1–10 Hz) when nothing moves, saving battery.

LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) is a type of OLED backplane that can change the refresh rate over a wide range — from 120 Hz while you scroll down to very low rates on a still image — so you get smooth motion without wasting battery.

Also called: adaptive refresh rate, variable refresh rate
