LCD

A screen with a backlight behind liquid crystals. Usually cheaper than OLED; blacks look greyer.

An LCD uses a backlight shining through liquid crystals. It is cheaper to make than OLED and has no burn-in, but blacks are not truly black and contrast is lower. Many budget phones and most laptops use LCD (often IPS LCD).
