VRAM (video memory)
Memory on the graphics card for textures and frames. More VRAM helps at high resolution and with AI models.
VRAM holds textures, frame buffers and AI model weights. 8 GB is tight for new games at 1440p; 12–16 GB is comfortable; 24–32 GB helps for 4K and local AI. Memory type (GDDR6/GDDR7) and bus width decide bandwidth.
