mAh (milliamp-hour)
A measure of battery charge. More mAh usually means a bigger battery, but battery life also depends on the screen, chip and software.
mAh (milliamp-hours) tells you how much electric charge a battery can hold. Phone makers use it to state battery size.
- A bigger number usually means a bigger battery.
- It is not the same as battery life: screen size and brightness, refresh rate, the chip's efficiency and the software all change how long a phone lasts.
- To compare energy across devices with different voltages (phones, laptops, power banks) use Wh: Wh = mAh × volts ÷ 1000.
